At Washington County SPCA, we believe that community connections are just as important as caring for the animals inside our shelter. Our outreach programs are designed to educate, support, and uplift both pets and people across our community.
Education & Engagement

School Presentations – Teaching students the importance of spay/neuter, responsible pet ownership, and kindness toward animals.

Civic Group Talks – Presentations for Rotary, Lions, church groups, and other organizations about animal welfare and shelter programs.

Shelter Open House – Inviting the community to tour our facility, meet adoptable pets, and learn more about the work we do.

Nursing Home Visits – Bringing shelter dogs and cats to assisted living facilities to provide joy and companionship.

Community Projects – Partnering with Boy Scouts, schools, churches, and other groups who complete service projects that benefit the animals and shelter.
Affordable Pet Care Support

Vaccine & Microchip Clinics – Low-cost vaccinations and microchipping offered when funding is available.

Friday Microchipping at the Shelter – Quick and easy microchipping every Friday for just $10.

Pet Food & Supply Assistance – When resources allow, we provide crates, food, and other supplies to families in need.
Community Safety & Crisis Response

Domestic Violence & Homeless Support – Partnering with service agencies to ensure pets are safe and cared for when their owners are in crisis. Assistance may include crates, food, and spay/neuter services.
