Inaugural Spay/Neuter Clinic Held at New Facility

On Saturday, February 20th, we held our first clinic at the Washington County SPCA's new spay/neuter facility south of town. Armed with a team of volunteers, we opened the doors to Dr. Brady Robbins and crew, who brought his mobile equipment to provide surgeries for 35 of our shelter animals.

"This clinic was the result of a great team of volunteers and staff who worked tirelessly until every last animal was awake and ready to go back to the shelter," said Sherry Stinson, Washington County SPCA Board president. "We are forever grateful to previous Board members such as JoAnn Payne, Lindy Kidd, and Donna Gustafson who spearheaded the construction of this clinic, and the many donors who contributed to build this incredible facility, making a dream become reality. We know this is just the first of many clinics we plan to host, and once we have funding in place, we'll be able to equip the clinic so it will be a permanent fixture in the community, offering low cost surgeries and helping combat pet overpopulation."

The inaugural clinic was a team effort, staffed by volunteers from ARF, employees of the shelter, and SPCA Board members and volunteers. Each fulfilled an integral part in the prep, recovery, and after care for the animals. If you'd like to be part of these clinics, please visit our Volunteer page and sign-up or email and let us know!
