Adoption Policies: A nonrefundable deposit is required to hold the pet.
Call (918) 336-1577 to pay a credit card deposit. All pets are spayed or neutered before leaving the shelter. We can hold them for up to 3 days for adopters who live out of town. After that a $10 per day boarding fee will be charged. (The fee does not apply to time awaiting surgery.) Reason for boarding fee: We need adopters to take their pet home soon, because we are the only open admission shelter in the region (meaning we do not turn incoming animals away), so we need the space for new animals coming in every day. We do not fly puppies, cats or kittens. In special circumstances only, we will fly a dog over 6 months of age. We fly out of the Tulsa airport. The adopter must make all arrangements and pay all expenses up front.

Adoption fees include the following: Spay/Neuter (if using an in-network veterinarian); Vaccinations while at the shelter; general worming; temperament assessment; heartworm check (dogs); feline leuk/FIV check; heartworm preventive; ear mite treatment (cats); collar & leash (dogs); cat carrier; bag of Science Diet food.

V.I.P. Very Important Pet: Some of the animals in our adoption center are V.I.P.’s: these are dogs and cats that are in high demand for adoption and quickly find a loving home. V.I.P.’s have a higher adoption fee and they leave a financial legacy for the other animals in our care who may need extensive medical care or more time to find a loving home.

Your adoption fee will help us keep our doors open. If you would like to donate more than the fee, we always welcome it!
