Adoption Process:
The Washington County SPCA does not sell pets; we adopt them. You must be at least eighteen years of age to sign the adoption contract. This is a legally binding document that requires you to provide certain and specific conditions for the animal that you adopt. All adoption criteria are designed for the safety and welfare of the animals. These guidelines are standard practice for animal shelters across the country and are mandated by the Washington County SPCA Board of Directors.
Adoption Fees:
Fees vary from animal to animal and can range from $65.00 - $350.00. These fees apply toward the medical requirements of vaccinations, spaying or neutering, and the care and feeding of all the animals in the shelter. Every adopted animal is spayed or neutered before it is released to the adopting family.
Please note: The WCSPCA reserves the right to refuse adoption if application guidelines are not met or if the pet is not appropriate for the applicant.
